Słup Szymon Gallery is pleased to present Luba Lukova: Designing Justice in Anders Park, Szczecin, Poland. Lukova's exhibition will be displayed on poster kiosks wrapped in some of the artist's most iconic social commentary works.
Loved by audiences and critics, Designing Justice has traveled to galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and internationally including Jewish Museum Milwaukee, WI; Lore Degenstein Gallery, Selinsgrove, PA; Restoration Plaza, Brooklyn, NY; Zarrow Art Center, Tulsa, OK; Rogers Center for the Arts, North Andover, MA; Phebe Conley Art Gallery, Fresno, CA; Krannert Fine Arts Center, Anderson, IN; Museum of the City of Riobamba, Ecuador; and The Thermos Foundation, Taipei, Taiwan.
"Luba Lukova is an excellent artist, and her works have been exhibited in venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York," says Kaja Depta-Kleśta, co-curator of the exhibition. "That's why in the beginning we were concerned she wouldn't accept our invitation to show her work in our small gallery. It turned out not to be so. She is happy to exhibit at Słup Szymon. Luba's works have been inspiring us for a long time. These real pearls of social poster will be soon in Anders Park! We invite you to see them!"
Słup Szymon Gallery is a project of Kaja and Piotr Depta-Kleśta, a duo of designers and professors at the Art Academy of Szczecin. The outdoor gallery is located in the magnificent General Anders Park in the heart of Szczecin, a historic city on Poland’s Baltic coast. Słup Szymon Gallery is dedicated to featuring the work of contemporary artists associated with the art of poster, who can periodically present and talk about their work at the gallery.
